Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and faced interruptions to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles targeted the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes struck electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The assaults come after evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
